Nylon
Nylon is a highly abrasive and wear resistant plastic often used for bearings, gears, and other high-wear parts.
The most outstanding properties are:
· Resists gasoline, mineral oil, and refrigerants
· Good impact strength
· High tensile strength
· High wear resistance
Nylon can be used in a temperature range from –40°F to +185°F.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Nylon is an engineered plastic used in precision parts requiring high rigidity, high stiffness and high strength. It is a great material for making parts that will be used in a dry environment. Because of it’s superior mechanical properties, it’s often used in applications where plastics save weight over metal parts, but offers similar strength characteristics.
Often used to make gears, bushings and bearings.
Applications for machined parts include: packaging equipment, drive components, and bearing applications requiring lighter weight parts.
