Buna-N Rubber

Buna-N rubber, also known as Nitrile rubber, is an economical material that provides high resistance to oils and hydrocarbon fluids. 

 

The most outstanding properties are:

· Superior resistance to oils and hydrocarbon based fluids

· Formulation prevents swelling and seal degradation when used as a gasket

· Resists compression set

· Maintains mechanical properties for exceptionally long periods of time

 

Buna-N can be used in a temperature range from –20°F to +170°F.

Color:  Black

Temperature Range:  –20°F to +170°F

Tensile Strength:  1,000 to 2,500 psi

Recommended for Outdoor Use:  NO

 

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Applications include:  environments where fuel oil, hydraulic oil, ethylene glycol, grease, and petroleum based fluids are present.  Excellent gasket material.

Sheet:  1/64” to 2” thick

Durometers:  40A, 50A , 60A, 70A

 

Available in the following styles:  smooth, fabric finished, fabric inserted, textured finish, buffed finish, adhesive-backed sheets and strips
