Acetal is a highly wear resistant plastic with a naturally slippery surface. Also known as Delrin® and Acetal homopolymer, it resists moisture and has the ability to hold tight tolerances when machined into parts.

Acetal is an engineered plastic used in precision parts requiring high dimensional stability, high rigidity, stiffness and low friction. It is a great alternative to Nylon when the product will be exposed to moisture because Acetal does not absorb moisture. Because of it’s superior mechanical properties, it’s often used in applications where plastics save weight over metal parts, but offer similar strength characteristics.
Often used to make gears, bushings and bearings.
Applications for machined parts include: packaging equipment, drive components, and bearing applications requiring lighter weight parts.
